Brothers Nick and Marko Akrap started “League of Shadows” toward the end of ‘05, the reason which can hardly be described as anything but pure existential intervention from God himself. They went from a vague notion to a clear understanding of what the purpose of their music was: resurrect classic rock n’ roll and create a new type of music that pays tribute to the era of the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.

How long you’ve been playing? – I started playing piano when I was 4 years old. I went through a couple of different music teachers. I got bored of playing classical music so I picked up an Aerosmith and Guns n’ Roses music book and started playing rock. When I was a sophomore in high school I decided to pick up the guitar on my own, and have been playing and writing music ever since. Being self taught on the guitar opened up my eyes to improvisation. I loved jamming with some buddies and that’s what kept me going. Once I started writing music I started taking it seriously and started a band with my brother Marko.

How long you’ve been playing? – I started playing piano at six because my dad gave me a choice to play either piano or guitar (not playing anything was not an option) and I chose piano because even back then, I pictured myself hooking girls with a sweet tune on the piano. From there I moved on to learn some things about keyboards, but nothing sounds better than some classical music on a baby grand.
